Discovered : In use for over 10,000 years. One of the first metals worked by humans.
Found in : Malachite, azurite, chalcopyrite, native copper.
Used for : Electrical wiring, plumbing, alloys (bronze, brass).
Remarkable : Gives malachite its vivid green and azurite its deep blue. A single wind turbine contains over a tonne of copper.
